The rapid development of the Linux platform in the recent years lead to some problems associated with the absence of full support from some leading software companies. One of the leading electronic manufactures met the same issue. They contacted our team to develop a component for new printer line to have a printer connected to a Linux machine as a NetWare print-server.
The main challenge was that Novell provided development tools only for DOS and Win32, and does not document internal NDS components. There was a Novell client in Linux, but its capabilities were obviously not enough.
During implementation of the project, a fully functional version of the printer driver with native SPX support was developed. Since the documentation obtained from Novell was insufficient for this purpose, part of the required information was found out through reengineering.

Word to Mainframe Conversion Tool
SolovatSoft team was contacted to develop a software tool that converts WordPerfect and Microsoft Word files (text and formatting codes) created on desctop PC to a proprietary code. This proprietary code is used when displaying the document on the IBM mainframe with the customer proprietary tool. This tool allows preparing documents on your PC, using the word processing software of your choice. Using this tool, you can see how the document will look on the mainframe before actually uploading the document

The XVL Convertion tool is an application that enables users to further reduce the size of their already small XVL objects. It also converts image formats and allows users to change the background colour of objects. When you're hosting hundreds or thousands of 3D objects on the web, the bytes add up fast. This product helps to reduce the overall "size/weight" of web site.
This tool was created by our development team to be used for the internationally recognized application, ArchiCAD. ArchiCAD enjoys a large share in the architectural CAD market and will continue to be a leader in the 2D 3D development field. Architects using this Exporter with ArchiCAD can easily convert any of their 3D data into the smaller, ideal for the web, XVL format. After converting to the smaller XVL format these objects are instantly ready for viewing on the internet by users. Unlike the usual CG format, these XVL objects are ready for viewing in a browser.
GDL users have been asking for a low cost, simple GDL scripting tool for a long time - and here it is. Version 1.0 of the GDL Scripter has a basic interface that allows users to edit existing GDL, or develop new ones. You only need this tool and a little knowledge of GDL to start creating your own 3D object libraries!
